Said about Danica:
“It helps everyone,” said Sarah Fisher, 27, who will be driving in her seventh Indy 500. “It helps the sport. It helps the sport grow and get into the mainstream. It helps the sport get an identity it couldn’t get otherwise.”
Tony George, the series founder, said Friday: “She’s captured the public’s attention. I don’t know if we do anything more than anyone else would do. We’re just fortunate that she’s in our series and wants to remain in our series.”
“I think if we would be shifting all of our marketing toward her, that would be a mistake,” Terry Angstadt, the president of the commercial division of the IndyCar Series, said last week. “But I think we would be absolutely crazy not to take full advantage of the attention she’s getting.”
Danica's words:
“I’m pretty girly outside the car,” she said.
“I am more interested in a candidate who does more things for the younger generation,” she said.
"Start a family with my husband (Paul Hospenthal) is not at the top of my priority list. But if life takes me that way, then it does,” she said.
